Additional Information about the Direct-To-Video Cartoon Tenjôhen: Utsunomiko Part 11

This direct-to-video OAV series ran for 13 episodes.

Based on Keisuke Fujikawa's novel of mythical seventh-century Japan.

The series had its genesis in an 83-minute theatrical film. Released in 1988, it was subtitled "Earth Chapter." Fumio Kurokawa was the director, while the screenplay was by Kenji Terada and Sukehiro Tomita. Design was by Mutsumi Inomata; Chiyoshi Kawano composed the music.

The video series was subtitled "Heaven Chapter." While retaining Mutsumi Inomata's designs, director Tetsuo Imazawa had Teruyoshi Yamazaki redesign the characters.

A second theatrical film, "Utsunomiko: Heaven Chapter," was a 75-minute remake of the video series.
