Additional Information about the Feature Film The Girl Next Door

Although this film is mostly live-action, director Richard Sale commissioned UPA to create a pair of animated linking sequences. The longer one has young Joe Carter (Billy Gray) imagining his widowed father's love interest, Jeannie Laird (June Haver), as a troublesome witch. This segment compelled UPA to depict a talking dog and raccoon, although the studio didn't use talking animals in its own cartoons.
