Planned as a CGI/live-action hybrid movie. The comedy fantasy was originated at DreamWorks, and then went to Universal, with Imagine producing. New Line picked the project up in 2003, where it remained unproduced until 2011.

New Line was closest to launching the project. The studio lined up a voice cast that included Dwayne Johnson, Pierce Brosnan, Mira Sorvino, Eartha Kitt and Gene Wilder.

This cartoon is currently in a pre-production or production phase. The information on this production (including release date) is estimated at this point, and is subject to change as the production finalizes.
