This was a segment on "The Huckleberry Hound Show." The show was originally sponsored by Kellogg's Cereal.
As originally planned, Huckleberry Hound's voice was to vary according to the cartoon- from Gary Cooper's in Westerns to Humphrey Bogart's in police stories, for example.
Director-actor Jack Webb made a joke about Huckleberry Hound in his 1959 feature film "-30-" (also known as "Deadline Midnight"). Research indicated that many viewers of the series were adults. Bars were said to close whenever The Huckleberry Hound Show aired.
