Season two was also called, "Rise of the Bounty Hunters."
On the front lines of an intergalactic struggle between good and evil, fans young and old will join such favorite characters as Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Padmé Amidala, along with brand-new heroes like Anakin's padawan learner, Ahsoka. Sinister villains- led by Palpatine, Count Dooku and General Grievous- are poised to rule the galaxy. Stakes are high, and the fate of the Star Wars universe rests in the hands of the daring Jedi Knights. Their exploits lead to action-packed battles and astonishing new revelations.
Over 39 episodes of this TV series are planned; however, it has not been revealed exactly how long the series will run. George Lucas has mentioned it may be over 100 episodes in the final series, but George has been known to exaggerate the number of episodes in a series before.
Ahsoka, Anakin's padawan, is the first female Jedi to be a character of focus.
"It turned out to be an idea that George (Lucas) wanted to explore," said supervising director Dave Filoni. "Henry Gillroy (a writer on the series) and I very much wanted to have a female Jedi in more of a lead role because you've had all the boys."
