First shown on German television as a 78-episode series, with each episode running from eight to nine minutes. The show was later condensed into 26 30-minute episodes.

The series was rebroadcast in Britain on cITV, with Richard Murdoch as the narrator. It was recut into 100 episodes, each running from four to five minutes. Some material was deleted, as it was considered inappropriate for children's TV in Britain.

English Title: "Winter Guests."

Alternate Series Titles: "Mumins" (German) and "Opowiadania Muminków" (Polish).
