This was another excellent musical Popeye short. If I had to choose between Popeye and Bluto as a life guard, I would choose Popeye, unless I wanted a “singing” life guard, and not many places want one of those.

This cartoon is visually stunning, one of the most enjoyable Popeyes I have seen. The animators make brilliant use of multiplane cameras and there are a few scenes that seem to transcend that technology, though I'm not sure how......  (read more)
