Early Daffy Duck, similar to Woody Woodpecker, I always thought. The Merrie Melodies always seem to reveal what was popular to me; music, movies, what scares us and so on.

Neat stuff......among McCabe's Warner efforts, this one's on a par with "The Ducktators." McCabe took a lot of weird twists and turns in each of his films--but they all work to best advantage in this one.
