Cartoon Summary:

A huge cold air mass moving down from polar regions collides with warm, moist air off the coast of Cuba, creating the Storm of the Century. With all of Eastern North America being pummeled by torrential rains, gale force winds, extreme snowfalls and ice storms, every Rescue Hero must move into action! During their efforts, Billy comes face to face with his father, who disowned him when Billy chose not to go into the family business. But Billy and his father are forced together as they go down in an emergency landing in the Hyper Jet because of the blizzard. They disappear from radar and communication, and now the other Rescue Heroes must rely on their training, preparedness and procedure in order to continue their rescue efforts across North America while their friend and leader is missing in action. Meanwhile, Billy's father comes to understand Billy's choice, and they reconcile as they work to stay alive and get out of their dangerous situation.

Educational objective: The viewer learns that preparedness, procedure, training and teamwork make it possible to handle the rigors of an emergency situation while also dealing with a highly personal situation.
