Tom arrives at the home of his girlfriend, a white kitten, to sing a serenade. Just after climbing the wall surrounding her house, he provokes Killer (Spike) to come out of his doghouse and ties him up. Then he places himself below the balcony and starts playing a song on a cello that he brought along. Jerry is awakened by the noise as his room is more or less falling apart around him. He takes revenge by throwing an iron and a pie in Tom's face- now the chase begins. In the middle of it all, Jerry unties Killer, who's immediately on Tom's tail. In the end, Tom receives a real whipping (he even writes his will), and Jerry plays the cello for the kitten (Tom's whiskers are the strings)!
