Opens with Fleischer's hand drawing a spool of thread and needle. The thread comes to life, moves itself through the eye of the needle and then stitches across the drawing paper. Each of the stitches transforms into a section of the background drawing. The thread then gets quite tangled but the tangles emerge as KoKo. Fleischer accidentally rips the drawing right across Koko's middle.
KoKo tries to fix things but just makes them worse. Meanwhile, in live action, Fleischer gets another spool of thread and stitches the split clown back together. When KoKo splits his suit Fleischer tries to help but has so much trouble threading the needle he and Koko begin fencing. Koko uses the needle, Fleischer uses his pen.
Fleischer soon begins keeping score and KoKo is winning. When Fleischer begins cheating KoKo jumps off the drawing page, takes the real needle, threads it and starts to sew Fleischer and everything in the studio into a huge web!
In short time the entire studio is a tangled mess. Even the studio kitten gets involved. This last part demonstrate how well Fleischer was able to blend reality with animated action. Watch the ending closely. Fleischer tosses in one more reality bender when Koko seeks refuge in his Inkwell.
