A young canary from a wealthy home is practicing his math homework on a branch, when a cat robber creeps up on him. The cat has a plan to cat-nap the canary, and hold him for a ransom of 5000 tins of catfood. The young canary tries to persuade the cat-napper to leave before Mrs. Shmergers Berg gets back, but the cats appetite for the easy life from the ransom job is too great and he almost wrecks the house trying to catch the canary, injuring himself in the process.
