Popeye and Bluto, for once not feuding enemies, are galloping along on a sleigh to visit Olive Oyl and Grandma on New Year's Eve. A struggle begins between Popeye and Bluto as to who will take Olive Oyl to the big dance and celebration, as they're apparently both taking Olive on a triple date. However, when Bluto wins, Popeye can't stand to see Grandma Oyl sit home alone on New Years Eve, so he brings her along on a double date with Olive and Bluto to the Happy Hour Club. They all go off to the big party. At the dance, Wimpy offers a cup as a prize for the best dancers. Bluto thinks that he's going to win, so he dances off with Olive Oyl. Popeye starts dancing with Grandma, whose steps are feeble at best. Popeye grabs a can of spinach from a table and feeds it to Grandma. They take off in a whirl, as all the other dancers form a circle and watch. Popeye turns Grandma into a champion swing dance partner. They win the cup and dance together, proudly holding the cup between them.
