Scrappy's Theme Song 6 out of 5 stars

Reviewed by: Nostalgia Kid, February 26, 2002

This film spoofs the troubles of getting a backyard musical together Ala Mickey Rooney & Judy Garland."Scrappy"is under prssure to create a musical version of a popular stage play. For the local club's new show. His brother doesn't help matters much.By messing around with his sheet music and fooling around his piano.Well.The kid does write and perform his theme song and hires his girlfriend to peform in the show. The play that the duo perform muscially?:Sheakespeare's:"Romeo & Julliet!".Long before Lenny Bernstein,Steve Soundheim and Art Laurents wrote, arranged and presented:"West Side Story"to Stage And Screen fans in the l960's."Scrappy"did his own Musical version of "Romeo & Julliet!".The film is funny, real and charming.Looking at a group of kids doing a stage musical. From a kid's point of view. This is one of the funniest cartoons that I've ever seen.Nostalgiakid.
