Invisible Ink 6 out of 5 stars

Reviewed by: Ray Pointer, November 25, 2001

This is another clever film that begins with Max teasing the clown by drawing things with disappearing ink. Gym equipment disapears the moment the clown touches it. A bicycle disappears, but the clown manages to find it, and baffles Max as he rides around on the invisible bike. Having enough of the clowns antics, Max then draws a line for the clown to follow, leading into the ink bottle. But the clown sucks up a mouthful of ink and spews it at Max's face. The clown then leaps off the desk, and draws a chalk like with the note, "If you want me, follow this line." This sends Max on a wild path into basemnts, into alleys, over fences, and climbing into windows, only to bring him back into the parlor of his own home, with a mutitude of clowns displayed in the room. Confused and angered, Max hurls a large vat of ink, scaring the clown who jumps into Max's mouth and crawls out of his ear, then leaps into the the invisible ink bottle, swimming around until dissolving away. Very clever, with even more elaborate uses of live action motion combined with animation. Highly entertaining.
