Before they were Heckle and Jeckle . . . .

The fast-paced story establishes sympathy (but only just) for a pair of brash wanderers--a beaky couple who crave nothing but the quiet enjoyment of their exclusive long-form squabble. When the magpies' domestic activities command the notice of a sleeping old man and and his sleeping dog, the conflict between camps is corroborated through a torrent of clever gags.

Hilarious!! I didn't realize Jeckle was a gal. Thanks for the opportunity to share this craziness with my grandchildren. Now they will know what real cartoons are! So very funny.
