Not Disney's best

Reviewed by: FireballXL6, February 18, 2009

I first came across Totally Minnie while trawling through Wikipedia, and as it was advertised as Minnie's first own feature, I thought it worth a look.

Sadly, I was let down. The animation and the songs were good, but the film looks more like a surreal medley of '80s songs with a bit of Disney animation thrown in. Robert Carradine is good as Maxwell Dweeb, but his geeky laugh comes across more as annoying than funny.

As for Minnie, well, I think the film would have been better called "Hardly Minnie". Out of the 80 minutes of running time, Minnie herself appears on-screen for only 20 minutes, and even then appears to be acting in a completely un-Minnie Mouse like way: openly kissing complete strangers, flirting with musclebound beach boys and dressed up as though she's in a Cyndi Lauper music video.

If you like '80s memorabilia, then you'll probably like this film, but I personally didn't think much of it myself.
