Cartoon Production Information:

Stories in this series were based on events in the childhood of executive producer Roseanne (Roseanne Barr). The characters took part in adventures by entering Roseanne's fantasy world.

Ronnie Spector recorded the theme song.

Poor ratings killed the half-hour series off after 13 episodes, although Roseanne blamed network interference for its cancellation.

Apparently, Roseanne used the likenesses of family members without their consent, and they weren't too pleased about it. Also, Barr objected to ABC's insistence on puttnig more boys into the show; Barr felt that this would lead to the show's becoming too violent. Had the show proceeded to a second season, Rossanne planned to take over voicing her character.

Roseanne's relationship with ABC and the show ended on such a sour note that Roseanne produced an animated "revenge" pilot/special titled "The Rosey and Buddy Show," in which TV executives known as "The Powers That Be" were characterized as corporate weasels (actual weasels) who were only interested in profit and cared nothing about art or comedy.

Due to poor ratings, "The Rosey and Buddy Show" did not last beyond the pilot, which was broadcast on May 15, 1992. Ironically, the pilot was produced by Nelvana (the same studio that produced "Little Rosie") and aired on ABC, the network which axed "Little Rosie" in the first place.

"Little Rosie" marked the first work by Tom Arnold (Roseanne's husband at the time) as an executive producer.

Traditional, Hand-drawn Animation.
