Cartoon Production Information:

The character Annaďk Labornez (nicknamed Bécassine) first appeared in the French weekly "La Semaine de Suzette" in February 1905. It was not a comic strip, but, rather, a story with accompanying pictures. Joseph Emile Pinchon produced the drawings, while the magazine's editor, Jacqueline Rivičre wrote the stories. A total of 99 short stories about Bécassine appeared between 1905 and 1914. In 1913, Rivičre's nephew, Maurice Languereau (writing under the pseudonym "Caumery et Pinchon"), created a new version of Bécassine in the form of a comic book, of which 28 were published in the following 45 years.
