Cartoon Production Information:

Jimmy Kudo is a world renowned detective... but he's still in high school! His whole life is changed when two mysterious men in black give him an experimental drug that transforms the master sleuth into pint-sized Detective Conan. Joining his high school sweetheart and her detective father, Conan tries to piece the clues together to solve the jobs the police cannot, all the while wondering if he can ever track down the men who made him small.

This TV series ran for at least 232 episodes.

Based on Gosho Aoyama's 1994 manga in "Shonen Sunday" magazine. This series' popularity made Aoyama Japan's highest-paid manga artist by 1999.

The name "Conan Edogawa" is a combination of the names of Western detective novelist Arthur Conan Doyle and Japanese detective novelist Ranpo Edagawa.

The series was dubbed in the United States in Spanish, where the hero was renamed Bobby Jackson.

Many story lines ran for two episodes.

Four 90-minute theatrical films were released: "Clockwork Skyscraper" (1997), "The 14th Victim" (1998), "End of the Century Sorcerer" (1999) and "Capcutred in Her Eyes" (2000). A fifth film, "Countdown to Heaven," was released in 2001.

Conan's father starred in such short stories by Aoyama as "The Wandering Red Butterfly" and "Summer's Santa Claus." Along with "10 Planets in the Night Sky" (a story teaming Conan and Shinichi) and unrelated stories "Investigator George's Little War," "Play It Again" and "Wait a Moment," these appeared as 20-minute animated TV specials by Osamu Nabeshima in 1998.

Traditional, Hand-drawn Animation.
