Cartoon Production Information:

The first Disney cartoon released through United Artists. Disney shorts previously were released through Columbia Pictures. The classic Mickey Head opening title began with this cartoon.

Cut scenes include knives being thrown at Mickey, pinning him to the wall. Another had two of the kids squirting paint at a bust, giving it a black face. This was originally meant to spoof Al Jolson's performance in "The Jazz Singer" (released by Warner Bros., which became Disney's greatest rival).

Contemporary newspapers reported that Britain's King George V insisted on seeing this cartoon to the end when he visited an orphanage, putting his schedule behind.

This appears to be the only cartoon in which Mickey and Minnie are depicted as married to each other, although, of course, this is Mickey's nightmare.

Traditional, Hand-drawn Animation.
