Cartoon Production Information:

The last Popeye cartoon filmed in black and white, but colorized later by Ted Turner. In the original black-and-white version, Popeye, at the start of the film, looks for inspiration in the objects of art surrounding him. He looks to a painting of a smiling black woman called the "Moana Liza." She's left in the Turner-colorized version, but her face is painted yellow! Also, when Popeye eyes a sexy pin-up and is inspired to draw one of his own, a human hand comes onscreen to stamp "CENSORED" before Popeye can show it to us. In the colorized version, the hand doesn't appear - the "CENSORED" sign appears by itself!

The last Famous Studios cartoon to be released in black and white. The A.A.P. titles say that this is a Max Fleischer cartoon. It most certainly is not.

Traditional, Hand-drawn Animation.
