Cartoon Production Information:

A CBS summer replacement show filled with their newly acquired animation library of TerryToons cartoons. Live intros by a young Dick Van Dyke playing straight-man to the cartoons was intriguing, but it stood no chance against monster competition at ABC. The competing network had Walt Disney's Disneyland show, and against those big guns, Paul Terry's cartoons did not stand a chance.

The summer series ran 13 episodes and aired in prime time- 7:30 to 8 PM on Wednesday nights. Despite the prime time slot, the series was obviously aimed at children. The show was set in Van Dyke's living room, where he chatted with the Terrytoons characters, who then responded using stock film clips. These segued into full theatrical cartoons featuring various Heckle & Jeckle, Dinky Duck and Gandy Goose. New animation completed the wrap-around segments.

Traditional, Hand-drawn Animation.
