Cartoon Production Information:

The first appearance of the Japanese Beetle. Japanese Beetle returned in many of the DePatie-Freleng's "Blue Racer" cartoons.

The character of the Japanese Beetle is a very dated Asian stereotype (buck teeth, glasses and slitty eyes) which may be offensive to some.

This series was renamed "The Texas Toads"- and the characters renamed Fatso and Banjo- when these shorts were broadcast on television as The Pink Panther Laugh and a Half Hour and a Half Show on NBC in 1976.

The first of only two DFE toons directed by Grant Simmons.

Traditional, Hand-drawn Animation.
