This cartoon proves that Chuck Jones was a genius! Each moment, each expression, each comic gag is drawn and timed to perfection. Every time I see it I laugh and cry at the same time.

What's not to love?
This cartoon is one of my favorites among all the fabulous works of Chuck Jones. Anyone who has tried to sneak in a pet knows exactly how Marc Anthony feels. Those of us who successfully sneaked in that pet also know that sense of relief when Mom finally says it can stay. This is a wonderful cartoon, as are all the Pussyfoot shorts.

Unmistakeable Bea Benaderet as the Woman
How many mannerisms and expressions could this dog, Marc Anthony, go through? There never was an outstanding dog in the Merrie Melodies lot, like Goofy and Pluto at Disney or Scooby Doo at Hanna Barbera, but Marc Anthony is a favorite.
He ends up doing anything to keep that kitten around.
"Now what are you up to? You look very guilty."
Check out his reaction.
And how about when he grabs her around the ankle trying to get the kitty on the toy car.
Too funny.
And then he got the whip cream! Alas, that didnt fool her for a bit. Talk about acts of desperation.
Still laugh at that poor mouse being dragged out of his hole too.
