Of course I'll give this cartoon the highest rating. My dad wrote for Warner Brothers, Disney, Hanna & Barbara, and MGM. It was a child's best world... cartoons and comic books galore.

THE greates Christmas cartoon ever made.....proof positive that Hugh Harman's a sadly-underrated director.
The elimination of any mention of the Nativity in the opening rendition of "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" is redeemed by the intact lyrics to "Silent Night" at the tail end. The cartoon's point is that there IS no point in "peace on earth, good will to MAN" any longer. This was a visionary cartoon which was well aware of the unrest and tragedy in most of the rest of the world, and our blissful unawareness which would, in a long two years, finally end. Then it'll probably only be God & His animals.
