Foghorn Leghorn at his gabbiest

It went right past ya boy! Its too fast for ya boy! I keep pitchin' 'em and you keep missin'
'em! Foghron Leghorn rules! And we get Sylvestor at his most violent, tricking the dog into hanging himself and then murderously swinging an ax at him. Later, he swings a mallet with great mallice at poor Henery. Ah, the days before PC, Rug Rats and Rollie Poley Ollie.

The Toonerville Trolley at its best

Reviewed by: geotune, April 26, 2004

Mr. Bang needs the Toonerville Trolley to get him to his connection with the steam train on time (for once!). The Skipper bets him $10 he can do it and with Katrina's help their off. Now I always screen cartoons with my 2-1/2 year old to see if he laughs; and he did at the many site gags throughout. The restored version I have on the DVD "Cartoon Crazys" (WinStar Home Entertainment 1997) has superb color and sound. Like a lot of early cartoons, the dialog is sparse, hard to understand and mixed poorly with the soundtrack. That's OK - you'll get it after watching several times, which you'll want to do.

Fun, clever, compassionate

Reviewed by: geotune, April 26, 2004

Felix goes fishing for a companion for his goldfish and ends up sucked down into King Neptune's world. The lovely, restored version on "Cartoon Crazys" (WinStar Home Entertainment, 1997) does justice to all the hard work that went into animating this 70+ years ago. This is another cartoon that passed my 2-1/2 year old's laugh test, and we had to watch the bit with the electric eel over and over again. Well, Felix gets busted for attempting to kidnap a goldfish and is brough before King Neptune. But the King is compassionate, and the ending works out fine.
