SNOW BRAWL FOR ALL AT LAKE PLASTERED!!!!

Reviewed by: STORMMASTER, March 24, 2004

This is a great popeye cartoon classic! Popeye tries to teach olive oyl to ice skate, at lake plastered (lake placid, n.y., as if you didn't know!), until buddinski bluto tries to interfere!
Poor olive!!!! Alway's in the middle of things!!!! And to matters worse, she's dressed so lightly against the cold and snow, it just doesn't make sense! The bitter rival switches gears from skates to skis, with olive in peril again! The pace of "i'll be skiing ya!" is fast and funny! I enjoy the "wolf call" additions!!!!

THE BEST POPEYE CARTOON YET!!!!

Reviewed by: STORMMASTER, March 24, 2004

This cartoon has all the elements for suspense and thrills! For the first time winston sharple's orchestra's soundtrack played a great score that matched a classic popeye cartoon! A skyscraper under construction is the main element in "child sockology!" and little sweetpea (drawn much cuter than in the fleischer toons), is the object of popeye and bluto's rescue! This one is one of the best shorts of popeye, i have seen yet! The music score is also been part of winston sharple's repitorie of classic paramount/ famous studios cartoon scores reused over again and again, as in the "felix the cat" tv show of the 1960's. I truely enjoyed the last scene where popeye, olive, and little sweetpea are having dinner at the top of the skyscraper! After all like in "thrill of fair", when sweetpea wanted the hot air balloon, so in "child sockology" did he want to stay on the skyscraper! I love to watch this toon over and over again! Rarely, do you find a toon that has a match like this one!!!!

SPOOKY FOX AND CROW AT THEIR BEST!!!!

Reviewed by: STORMMASTER, March 24, 2004

This is the best of all the fox and crow cartoons, for one reason: it features the best chase of the fox and crow yet! The mayhem they encounter in the old mill is hillarious, but the ending is funnier!!!! When they discover that sound haunting the old mill was really an owl, the crow laughs thinking it was a joke!!!! The fox however loses his temper nad chases the crow through the mill, almost grabbing him a few times, then they go out the mill window onto the mill water wheel, chasing after each other!!!! You kind of wonder what the fox will do when he catches the crow, i shutter to think!!!! After all the fox is the police sgt., and the crow his deputy! This is as classic as a casper cartoon!
