The Egg-Yegg 4 out of 5 stars

In this fine Bob Wickersham Fox and Crow short, the Crow receives some refugee war eggs from an "eggcited" mother. Unfortunately, his efforts to protect this nest of "heavenly happiness" are threatened by the Fox, working as an egg-collector on a scientific expedition. Though perhaps more could have been done with the plot, this short is nonetheless most enjoyable for its many memorable moments, including the fantastic musical sequence featuring the Fox and Crow's duet, "Let's All Sing Like the 'Boidies' Sing" (Frank Graham was a genius!). Other highlights include the Fox's "explosive" high-wire act, the second appearance of the Fox's "dream girl" from "The Dream Kids", and the refugee eggs hatching into birds reminiscent of Chuck Jones' "Instant Martians".
