Captivating transformation 5 out of 5 stars

Ah the childhood memories! When I saw this as a kid, I was enthralled by the scene where the caterpillar sings, spins and wraps himself tightly in his cocoon, pops out within a few seconds as a beautiful butterfly woman and dances for Pluto.

Since the caterpillar sings in such a deep voice, which heavily implies that he is male, as a kid, I was incredibly surprised that he turned into such a perfect, beautiful woman in such a short amount of time. I also didn't understand the cryptic song until I heard it again as an adult. I wonder if being stretched to near breaking point by the baby quail and Pluto, or having his cocoon shaken so vigourously might have messed up his gender during the transformation?

I only wish the caterpillar/butterfly character had appeared more often in other shots as well...

This is my personal favorite disney short, i saw it many times on one of those "Disney Cartoon Classics Videos and the title was "Here's Pluto"this was back in the 80's when i was a young lad and i rented it so many times that i bet i wore out the tape, also in the caterpillar scene the caterpillar spins a coccoon on Pluto's tale and not on Pluto's Muzzel.
