Love Letters On The Rocks 10 out of 5 stars

Reviewed by: richardjf, July 17, 2004

Wilma is cleaning out the closet and finds love letters from Fred when they were dating.
Fred finds the letters and thinks Wilma has a boyfriend.
Case closed?
Not hardly. Pure Flintstones shlock is all throughout this episode, from Wilma on roller skates to Fred's constant fuming.
There is the classic bit with a snapshot taken by a bird in the camera with a hammer and chisel, which snaps Barney trying to tell Wilma to get rid of her boyfriend and stay with Fred.
Turns out the pic looks like Barney is in love with Wilma.
But the most off-beat moment has to be the gimmick of private detective Perry Gunite (named after then popular tv character Peter Gunn, the one that had the marvelous Mancini intro).
Gunite has the most ridiculous walk when he enters the room, moving to the music, raising each foot, keeping the toes on the floor.
If you look at it carefully, it can look like Michael Jackson's moonwalk.
Too much.
But then the Flintstones always was.
