Cats Don't Dance 6 out of 5 stars

Nicely done, all told.
The film does make more sideline references to old musicals and the live-action people who starred in them than I would like (it's much the same effect as any episode of "Animaniacs"--too many instances where I find myself distracted and say to myself, "Ah--here's the obligatory adult joke which I'm supposed to laugh at!").
Somehow, I'm more fascinated by the supporting animal cast in this one.

Mark Dindal is a terrific director. Although, I felt randy Newman's songs were unnecessary.
