Scooby-Doo Meets Jeannie 8 out of 5 stars

Atrocious Animation, but different from most Scoob

Reviewed by: richardjf, August 17, 2003

This time, Scooby and the gang meet the Jeannie characters from the early animated Jeannie cartoon; Jeannie, Corey, Henry and Babu. Corey was the Major Nelson character, Henry was the Roger Healy and Babu, voiced by former Stooge Joe Besser, was a genie apprentice. Most amazing still, a pre-Star Wars Mark Hamill did the voice of Corey.
This stands as about the only Scooby adventure when the gang met real supernatural characters and even did a bit of time travel.
This one again was different, as Scooby and Shaggy would be chased with Babu and Henry.
Fun to watch for one miscoloring when Corey is blonde like Freddie.
Jeannie is far from the Barbara Eden Jeannie, a redhead with a purple outfit. She bears more of a resemblance to Daphne. But she is eye-catching in cartoon form, as she levitates with legs folded and arms crossed and casts spells by whipping her pony tail.
The adventure is a bit strong to follow as well.
