As kids in the late 1940s before TV, my brother and sister and I watched "Hot Dogs on Ice" in glorious (and silent) black and white 16mm film in our basement. We watched it dozens of times, and were entertained with every single viewing. The central character is an obnoxious "hot Dog" skater, annoying the rest of the skaters who are just there to have fun. The bully tries to steal hot dogs from a pushcart vendor who has set up shop at the edge of the ice (giving us one more reason for the csartoon title), and ends up dragging a string of hot dogs that becomes a slingshot for launching other skaters into snowbanks, etc. Lots of action, and the motion of the skating animals is very well executed. I do hope this cartoon is included in the upcoming Krazy Kat Kartoon Kollection to be released October 2003.
