Awesome film

By
This was a film of breathtaking scope and originality. The storytelling was amazing and sequences like Moses' dream and the ten plagues were outstanding. DreamWorks took a big risk on this film and IT IS TRULY INCREDIBLE. Well, the lack of humor is understandable: this is not your average animated film: it is a very important story to many people and reverance was needed. They originally tried humor but it just didn't work. I LOOOOOVE the scene where Moses says goodbye to Rameses the first time and the second time too. (*tear*) I think it should have been nominated for best picture, and that it should have won it, too!

Disappointing

By
This is a good production by Dreamworks, but not a memorable one. Even though the animation was superb, the approach of the movie in biblical storytelling deprived the film of the essential feature of humour. Most of this kind of productions depend their success at three major factors: humour, music and scenario. The rest follow. Music was great, the story was good, the characters were well designed -even if most of them looked alike- but still it was as if I was watching a well produced documentary rather than a cartoon movie. The scene with the miracle of the Red Sea is an animation masterpiece and it is the most memorable feature of the movie.

The movie was cool... but I really have to give it up to Whitney Houston for singing "When You Believe" that women can sing like an angel.
