This is a remarkable early Mickey Cartoon. The piano scene is dramatically really well composed. While the similar scene in "The Opry House" still attaches one gag to the next and has a more loose feeling to it, "The Jazz Fool" shows a more carefully planned but nonetheless still fresh kind of humour. Also Mickey's expressions are a bit refined. Really funny is also the performance of Horace Horse in the first part.
