This one doesn't make the stomach churn the way "Feed The Kitty" could--it's much more consistently funny.

This is definitely the best entry in the Marc Antony / Pussyfoot series. Even better than "Feed the Kitty" I'd say.

This cartoon is absolutely hilarious. I would, in my opinion, venture to say that this is the best Warner Brothers cartoon, but fans of such other Chuck Jones cartoons as "One Froggy Evening", "What's Opera Doc", or "Duck Dodgers in the 24-1'2th Century" would probably burn me at the stake for admitting it.
Marc Anthony the bulldog (see "Feed the Kitty", "Kiss Me Cat", "Cat Feud", "Cheese Chasers"...) is framed by Claude Cat ("The Aristo Cat" (early) "The Hypo-Chondri-Cat", "Mouse Wreckers", "No Barking", "Two's A Crowd',etc.). Claude makes it look as if Marc Anthony has tried to eat his pet kitten, Pussyfoot. Thus, the master (voiced by Robert C. Bruce) kicks him out of the house as a punishment. Claude disposes of the kitten by shoving him into a vase. Claude has his motives for commiting this crime: he wants to sleep on the nice soft pillow instead of the other pets.The rest of this hilariously timed cartoon has the dog trying to get even with the cat, including the old soap-flake snow gag, and the saw-through-the-basement floor gag (gets the master, not the cat), shoving Claude's tail through the mail slot, mailing himself inside ("What's Harriet bought now?!") plus several other memorable attempts at revenge,and finally a balloon gadget that opens the front door. Claude is forced to sign a confession, and HE is kicked outside! A bus runs over him, leading him to say his only line: "Just one-a those DAYS, I guess!" and faints before the closing. This is a truly overlooked classic, it deserves to be right up there with the best of them. Plus, it has that certain dark undertone at times that many of Chuck Jones' 1950's cartoons have. Interesting.
