David and Lisa travel to Siberia where the king tells them of a nasty gnome named Ivan. Lately Ivan has been demanding the hunters give him their best furs or he will poison their reindeer. David sets up a trap with a human hunter to catch Ivan. The hunter takes Ivan's favorite fur and hangs it in a tree. Then the king's owl swoops down and steals Ivan's hat, when he is trying to get the fur. Ivan goes to the palace to get his hat, and he feels ashamed of what he has done.
