David explains the childhood and growing up stages of gnomes. Then he takes his granddaughter Susan to a birthday party. On the way, he has to help a mother hen and her chicks cross a river. The party gets invaded by the trolls. At the end, the trolls fall out of their tree when a man cuts it down.
