No reviews for what could be the greatest Yosemite Sam cartoon ever made?! Well, it's getting one now.
Awesome film. Bugs' and Sam's chemistry is perfect. Like Tracy and Hepburn (with more head injuries).

Well-nigh Freleng's greatest Bugs cartoon, as well as the greatest Sam cartoon. Bugs has to do little or nothing to foil Sam once he's atop the high-dive...but watch this film on a big theatre screen sometime. The perspective shots, when Sam forces the rabbit up the latter, really make you feel Bugs' terror, so that his victory is all the more deserved for the rest of the film and you can laugh to your heart's content.
It's films like this, too, that remind one of Freleng's stature as the IMPRESARIO of animation directors...the vaudville setting calls to mind "Show Biz Bugs," "Stage Door Cartoon," and "Hare-Do" and Freleng's whole desire to show his audience a good time.
