Post-Foxy World Brings Us A Cranky Piggy!!
This is the Merrie Melody that brought us Piggy, yet another Mickey Mouse rip-off (just look at those pants), but a cranky pig. Fluffy is his girlfriend and these two forgettable characters are off to an inauspicious start. How ironic that the bulk of the short is devoted to Piggy conflicting with his critics, literally. Okay over all but nothing to write home about.

This is a great, surreal visit to the hot music of the time. The soundtrack is jumpin' and the title song really rocks. Piggy, after grabbing his sax and jumping onstage, is heckled by a trio of drunks. One of them falls onstage, dances, and breathes in Piggy's face. Piggy, now thoroughly soused, goes outside and has an LSD-like experience as the cityscape comes alive. Even the car gets animated and the road becomes an undulating roller coaster. Piggy and the drunk yell "Whoopee!" at the end, a standard farewell indicating they're having a great time. The animation is seamless and the pace never lets up. This is one wonderful toon!
