Lots Of Fun!!
I get a kick out of Sea Hag's vulture and Olive's singing him to sleep. The whole premise of the lucky coin, the double for Olive Oyl, and the dance contest works. Kids really fear for Popeye, as he looks so helpless in the Sea Hag's clutches, and they cheer when Olive gets tough. Older boys may notice, too, that in some scenes (and especially at the end with the announcer) OLIVE IS A BABE!!!

Enjoyable
The animation by Paramount Cartoon Studiosis fine and the story a good one. What's
interesting in this cartoon is the scene
where Popeye is being pounded on the floor
and his spinach can pops out of his shirt
collar. The audience only sees a partial spelling of the label, yet, everyone knows
it's a can of spinach. By this time in
Popeye's animation career, he could carry
cans with no labels and we all would know
what's inside. It was also good to see
Olive eat the spinach and give The Sea Hag
the "Solar Sock!"
