Hot Cross Bunny (1948) - Merrie Melodies Theatrical Cartoon Series

Here's one McKimson Bugs cartoon that need not bow to any other director's effort. Hilarious; I also like the drama McKimson gets from Bugs trying to wow the doctors out in the audience--who continually glare motionlessly at him.

For me, this is the one McKimson wabbit cartoon that needn't bow to any other director's effort with the character. Uproarious....I like the dramatic tension McKimson milks from Bugs' all-out efforts to entertain the doctors and the cutaways to their inanimate, unamused scowls. The German (French?) scientist is a riot, too.

Some people have said that McKimson was a very poor director. But if you just look at cartoons like this one (as well as any Foghorn Leghorn or Sylvester Jr. cartoon or any of the Speedy Gonzales cartoons he made or the Tazmanian Devil cartoons) you would see that he was indeed NOT poor.
