A Chairy Tale: A fairy tale in the modern manner, told without words by film artist Norman McLaren. In the film, a chair (animated by Evelyn Lambart) that declines to be sat upon and a young man perform a sort of pas de deux.

Animated, but not a cartoon

Chairy Tale is a winsome, humorous deceptively simple pixilation (the director's term) with deep wisdom. Ravi Shankar music engages the senses, and the open-ended interaction of one man with one chair allows all sorts of interpretations. And it is just plain fun to watch.
