An unseen Betty Boop classic- unseen not because the story is racist- but because its perceived as BEING racist.

What irony. Here we have some of the earliest footage ever shot of Louis Armstrong- and I have never seen him this young before- singing a song that made him famous with his orignal band - and it isn't shown becuse the natives in the cartoon are categorized as being racist sterotypes. That's an injustice to Mr. Armstrong and the animators who actually were promoting African American musicians by producing this video.

I didn't find it any more offensive than anything else ever produced by Fleischer studios. what I found offensive is the assumption that film is racist by those appointing themselves as moral guardians of our cultural heritage.
