The Band Concert (1935) - Mickey Mouse Theatrical Cartoon Series

Fabulous!

Fantastic and very fun cartoon. Mickey's first premiere in color looks absolutely stunning, animation of all characters is incredibly well-crafted. It is a shame that today's "3D stuff" does not look as excellent as this one.

I saw this cartoon again recently. It's really good, with great gags involving Donald's many,many flutes. Someone must have remembered the Overture of William Tell has the same beat of 'Turkey In The Straw' and this is used to great effect. When Mickey conducts 'The Storm' a real storm brews up,and the whole ensemble is caght up in a Tornado which only stops when Mickey brings forward the cresendo,but through out the storm the band is playing. A great cartoon that suggests music can be fun!
