By the time Beavis and Butthead were in full swing, the Brothers Grunt grunt was added to the excellent stream of maturely themed animated shows produced by Mtv (including Aeon Flux, Cartoon Sushi, The Maxx, and the Head). When I first saw this show, it was a new level of gross to me. The sickness it brought to me was somehow countered by the utmost surreal nature of the brothers, the insane environment, and their quest to find Perry. Danny Antonucci has retained a level of stylistic brilliance throughout his career, and I can look back with nostalgic haze at when Mtv and Antocucci weren't afraid to make the push for one of the grossest animated series ever.
