It's the rags-to-riches story of Danny, a talented cat from small town in Indania, whoses lifelong dream of becoming a star is sidetracked when he discovers only 'HUMANS' get the good parts in Hollywood,.Only the big screen, animals can only meow, bark or moo.
But with the help of his newfound friends Tillie, hilarious hippo, the lovely but cynical lady cat, Sawyer, JUST TO NAME FEW. They all vow to break through the SPECIES BARRIER and prove once that dreams really do come true!

Nicely done, all told.
The film does make more sideline references to old musicals and the live-action people who starred in them than I would like (it's much the same effect as any episode of "Animaniacs"--too many instances where I find myself distracted and say to myself, "Ah--here's the obligatory adult joke which I'm supposed to laugh at!").
Somehow, I'm more fascinated by the supporting animal cast in this one.

Good

Mark Dindal is a terrific director. Although, I felt randy Newman's songs were unnecessary.
