You know, when Jones & Maltese created the Road-Runner series for WB, they initially sought to parody cartoon chase teams (Tom and Jerry being a prime example). Wow......on the basis of THIS evidence, you could say the biggest joke of all was on THEM.

At first my faulty memory identified this one as a throwaway that Chuck Jones gave to Abe Levitow or Tom Ray to direct (i.e., while he was at work on "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" or "The Dot And The Line"). Imagine my disappointment.
I'd rather watch the worst Pink Panther short any old day than this one.
