I thought I should share a little known fact about the voice used in this cartoon. It is in fact Fred Quimby's voice that you hear. If you watch carefully, they cleverly allude to this in a side article in the 3rd newspaper. On the right hand side of the page, just beneath the banner headline that reads "Cat Crashes Society", they printed - "Production Chief to be speaker".
Kinda cool, yes?

It's yet another top-notch entry!! I personally think the film's a fine example of H-B's callow disregard of the purely pantomimic atmosphere at the end & allowing Tom to speak in "that voice"......or, rather, "THOSE TWO VOICES"! It's only for a few short seconds, and both voices are sufficiently vulgar enough to suspend any viewer cynicism.
Tom's pulverizing of the mouse at the start is just a laff-riot; it perfectly sets up the situation to follow (and come full circle at the end).

I thought this cartoon wasn't bad, but Tom's voice sounded stupid! "
